Kortteja, kortteja

Voisihan sitä keksiä jotain hauskoja otsikoitakin, mutta kun ei leikkaa niin ei sitten, liekö tuolla tosin niin suurta väliä. Joka tapauksessa vuorossa olisi tämän viikkoiset korttihaasteet. Ensin Jehkottaren korttihaasteeseen kortti jossa tällä kertaa oli niin haastava malli, että ensin ajattelen ettei siitä tule mitään, mutta sitten sain idean. Kiitos Oliverialle mielenkiintoisesta mallista!
And again time for card challenges. First a card for Jehkotar Card Challenge where this time was so challenging sketch that for a moment I thought that I can't figure anything out of it but then I had an idea. Thank you for Oliveria for the interesting sketch!

Pyöreät muodot, ja soikeat erityisesti, tuottavat ongelmia kun en edelleenkään omista Cuttlebugia tai vastaavaa joten päädyin vain pyöristämään nurkat neliskanttisista paloista. Ostin Sinellin synttäritarjouksesta värillisiä leimatyynyjä ja olen nyt yrittänyt myös opetella käyttämään niitä. Tätä korttia tehdessä tajusin, että korttiin saa helposti yhtenäisen ilmeen kun käyttää samaa mustetta aina kun mahdollista. Tekstiin, kuvien ylänurkkien kiemuroihin, kuvien, taustapaperien ja teksti-tagin reunoihin on käytetty samaa vihreää mustetta ja käsittelin samalla värillä vähän noita kukkiakin. Hullun tuuria kun löytyi samaan sävyyn olevat kukatkin ja nauhakin sopii, en nimittäin noita tarkistanut kun aloin tehdä... Luonnonvalkoisia korttipohjia täytyy ehdottomasti saada enemmän, tosi käytännöllinen väri, sen kanssa sopii melkein mitkä värit vain eikä se ole niin jyrkkä kuin ihan valkoinen korttipohja. Valkoinen korttipohja tekee mieli yleensä peittää kokonaan tai lähes kokonaan taustapapereilla, tämän kanssa sellaista ongelmaa ei ollut. Värillisten kanssa ongelma taas on, että pitäisi sen korttipohjan väri olla just eikä melkein, muuten tulos on aika epämääräinen eli korttipohjia pitäisi olla kymmeniä erivärisiä. Pihille luonteelleni kun ei oikein tahdo sopia se, että koko korttipohjan ensin päällystän jollain värillä ja sitten vielä muita papereita siihen päälle. Ja ongelman asiasta tekee myös se, että monet taustapapereista ovat niin voimakkaasti kuvioituja, että niiden kanssa ei sitten tahdo oikein sopia mikään.

Round shapes, ovals especially, are problematic to me since I don't own Cuttlebug or anything as such so I just decided to round the corners of rectangular pieces. I'm now trying to learn to use my different colour ink pads and while making this card I realised that with those it is easy to give nice finished look for the card when you use the same ink whenever it is possible to use. Here I used the same green ink in text, stamping the flourishes on top corners of the pictures, in the edges of background papers, pictures and the text. I even added the same ink on flowers. Pure luck that I found matching flowers and ribbon, I didn't check that before I started making the card... Natural white is definately very handy card stock to use! White is often too bright and with coloured ones you should always have the exactly matching colour else the result would be quite weird. And that of course means, that you should have tens of different colours of those. As I'm sometimes a bit stingy, it doesn't feel right that first I cover the whole card with one paper and then add other papers on top of it. Also the problem is that some background papers have so distinctive patterns that it is almost impossible to find other matching papers.
Joka tapauksessa, tähän korttiin olen todella tyytyväinen! Ideana kortissa on, että sen voi antaa jollekin joka täyttää pyöreitä vuosia, korttiin täytyy vain lisätä oikeat numerot sen mukaan kenelle se lopulta päätyy.
Anyway I'm really satisfied with this card! The idea is that it could be given to someone who turns to 30, 40, 50 etc, just have to add the correct numbers for the signs.

Ja seuraavaan haasteeseen... Cute card thursday:n haasteena oli tehdä kortti jossa on jouluaiheinen eläin. Tähän päätinkin kokeilla heti askartelukirppikseltä ostamaani lintuleimasinta. Kortti on melko yksinkertainen, kuten aiemmatkin joulukorttini, ihan siitä syystä, että kortit tulevat pääosin omaan käyttööni ja suurin osa korttien saajista tuskin niitä säilöö mihinkään. Parille kaverille joiden tiedän pitävän käsintehdyistä korteista laitan kortit joiden kanssa olen nähnyt vähän enemmän vaivaa. :)

And onto the next one... In Cute card thursday the challenge was to make a card with Christmas animal. I decided to use my new birdstamp for this one. The card is quite simple, as are my other Christmas cards, simply because I'm not going to sell them, just send them myself and I know that most people who are going to get those won't be saving them so it doesn't really make any sens to use too much effort for them. I have couple friends though who I know that I like the handmade cards and are going to save those, for them I will send cards with a bit more effort. :)

And finally card for Dutch Dare Challenge. The challenge was to make a card showing wild animals and for this also I used my new stamp:

Leimakuva itsessään on niin iso, että se ei juuri mitään ympärilleen kaipaa ja leimasinkin suoraan korttipohjaan oksia vesileimamusteella. Tuloksena mielestäni ihan kelvollinen kortti joka saattaa lähteä isänpäiväkortiksi papalleni, saa nähdä. :)

The picture itself is so big that it doesn't really need anything too much around it and I ended up stamping some branches directly on the card with watermark ink. I think the result is quite ok and this card might go for my grandpa as fathers' day card, we will see. :)
